    Meet Mirko & Anita

Anita grew up in Brist, in the house directly across from Beach House Buinac. Mirko came from northern Croatia for work — they met here, then built their life together in Sweden. Every summer they came back. As their family grew, they wanted a place of their own for the long stays, so they bought the plot beside Anita's childhood home and built the first house. They designed it around one thing: how they actually wanted to live by the sea. Years later, they decided to share it.

    The Beginning

Brist, 1998 — the plot before there was a house, and the family it would be built for.

    The Original Beach House

    A family home first.

The first house was the family's own summer home — proper kitchens, comfortable beds, generous terraces, room for everyone to gather through the long Brist summers. Opening it up to guests came later; the same care still shapes every stay.

In 2017 the family extended the house, adding two more apartments — Paula and Ena, named after their daughters — so the next generation could grow up spending their summers by the sea and on the beach, just as they had.

    The Location

Well placed for all of it.

Split's airport is about two hours away (163 km); Dubrovnik around the same; and the islands are a short ferry hop. Wherever you're headed, you're not far. The house sits at the quiet end of Brist, just past the crossing on the main road, so there's almost no through-traffic — calm days, and safe for children. A supermarket, a café and a cocktail bar are all a short walk away. The nearest beach is about 15 metres from the door, though the coast is lined with them — the best one is simply whichever you like.

Split Airport — about 2 hrs (163 km)
    Split (city) — about 1h 45m (150 km)
    Dubrovnik — about 2 hrs (120 km)
Islands — short ferry from nearby ports
    Makarska — 40 km

When the day winds down, your stay is waiting a few steps from the sea.
